My 20th Birthday! :)

This was seriously the best birthday to date! Thank you everyone for the birthday greetings, I felt so overwhelmed with love! My day was sooo jam packed, filled with food, fun & shopping. Everyone keeps asking me what I did or how I spent my birthday so i'll just document it here :)

I woke up early for class (yes, I still went to school) to a box of doughnuts (my fav) and my usual Starbucks. After a long early afternoon of school, I went home then Jr and I went straight to CrabHut for lunch. Sooo delicious. Then we did a little a lot of shopping at Fashion Valley. Went to Sephora and finally got my U.D. All Nighter Setting Spray and got a BUNCH of free samples from the ladies at the registers for it being my birthday. I also got a free bottle of Birthday Cake body wash. Then we went to Nordstroms and Jr bought me my Michael Kors watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHH!! :) It's soooooooo beautiful Oh my gosh... I'm obsessed. I don't even know what to write about it, i'm speechless. After that, we did a little shopping at F21 before heading home.

We took a little nap, digested our CrabHut and relaxed for a while before we went all the way BACK to Fashion Valley to shop and eat even MORE!!! lol! He took me to MAC and I got a mini shopping spree :) Got a few green eyeshadows for St. Patricks day! Can't wait to use them. Thennnn we went to one of our favorite restaurants; Cheesecake Factory. Ate, ate, ate, ate & ate. Ended my night to a Redbox DVD, a red velvet birthday cake -Gaga Edition- (hahaha) and cuddles from my boys :) (Jr & our dog) lol.

Overall, the best birthday I could have asked for. I got cards in the mail from my family, a care package from my parents with a year supply of Lash Blast mascara, shoes, and the Lady Gaga 2 Viva Glams. Robin came over the night before and bought me a new pair of running shoes i've been wanting, and Vivian came over with a mini-cake, card, and sunflowers :) But my birthday wouldn't have been so amazing if it weren't for my disgustingly amazing boyfriend. Spoiled me all day long, did everything I asked for and more, and was constantly surprising me... I love him :)

I am however, feeling quite disgusting (and literally sick) today from eating horrible foods all day long and consuming a week's worth of calories in a 24 hour time frame. 4 hours of cardio here I come.

P.S. sorry guys! still camera-less! so here's all the ugly pics from my phone.

Individual SIGMA Brushes

I have a few friends who love using my brushes and tell me they want some. So here's a few individual brushes that my mom bought for me as an early birthday present. I'm so sorry for the poor image quality!! My sister in law is borrowing my DSLR so I had to take these with my phone. lol.

Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki - F80 (3rd, center)
I got this one because my sissy has a HUGE flat top kabuki and I love the way it applies powder. But because this ones smaller I use this to apply liquid foundation. My F50 is kind of too flimsy and I think the sturdy flat top gives me a lot more control and it easier to apply foundation in hard to reach places.

Tapered Highlighter - F35 (2nd from the left)
Next, I got this tapered highlighter specifically to apply powder on certain areas on my face without getting powder on other parts that I want to avoid. The F30 powder brush is pretty large whereas this one is the perfect size and shape. It's also very sturdy, which I like.

Tapered Blending - E35 & Blending - E25 (the white ones)
I'm obsessed over blending brushes because they're almost actually kind of all purpose brushes. I use them much more then just to blend. So... the E40 brush that came with my roll is awesome but it's kind of big, especially for people who have smaller eyelids. The E35 (white brush on the right) is just a tad bit smaller however it's WAY sturdier then the E40 and not aaaaaaaas... fuller? or fatter? I don't know what the word is... but yeah. lol. And as for the E25 (white brush on left); i'm not really sure if you can see a huge difference between the two but this one is flat whereas the E35 is tapered and more round. It's probably gunna turn into my new crease and all purpose brush. I really, really love this one!

Short Shader - E20 (far right)
Last, is the short shader. I got this to mainly smudge eyeliner, apply shadows around my upper, lower lash line and set pencil eyeliner with eyeshadow on my waterline.

I looooove the packaging Sigma products come in. It's not like it was taken off a shelf and thrown in a box. As you can see from this (poor quality) picture, it's obvious that they actually prepared a cute little package filled with my brushes and brochures according to my order.

LA day & the Laker game!

Last Friday Roger and I spent allll day in L.A. and went to the Lakers vs. Clippers game in the evening. Before the game we went to Roscoe's since Rogers never been there, walked Rodeo Dr., shopped at the Beverly Center. L.A. traffic is way too crazy for me and the drive home in a STORM was not fun. But overall a beautiful day :)

Urban Decay - NAKED Palette

Because 1. i'm a college girl who you won't see walking around school with a crazy black smokey eye and 2. I work for the Abercrombie & Fitch company where employees are limited to little, natural looking makeup to none at all, neutral colored eyeshadows are a must for me! I use it almost everyday. EVERY girl needs a go-to palette with beautiful colors for everyday natural looks.

The palette has the perfect set of neutral colors. Some lighter, nude kind of colors and darker  purple, blue and silver colors as well. You can do a BUNCH of looks with this thing. Retail goes for about $48 which might be a lot to some people but it's definitely worth it. I bought this a while ago in 2010 and last time I checked they were pretty much sold out everywhere but I heard Sephoras were stocking up because they were so high in demand. I know you can find them on eBay too but then you'd be risking spending even more. (even though I'd say go for it because  they'd STILL be worth it!!!) looooooooooooove this palette.

Robin's 21st!

Saturday night at our house we had a party to celebrate 21 years of Robin always being the sober guy at parties by getting him anything but sober! So much fun. Thanks everyone who came and made it another great night at the Martin residence! I felt so happy being surrounded by good company all night.

Many more nights like these to come!

SIGMA - Complete Kit w/ Brush Roll

I looooooooooove this.

Okay so before these babies (lol) my brushes consisted of 5 or 6 mix-matching, super old, cheap makeup application brushes with bristles always falling on my face! Not to mention not having the right tools to do certain looks was frustrating. I knew I needed a set of good quality brushes and MAC's brush line came first to mind but the prices are insane!! I wanted a set that was high quality but one that I could afford at the same time. I know sometime down the line when I become more experienced i'll make the MAC brush investment but for now i'd rather put less of my little college-student-budget- type of money to expensive brushes and more to my actual makeup collection.

Anywaysss... After weeks of non-stop research I finally found these. I read/watched about a million reviews and read a thousand beauty blogs about this particular set and so many professional makeup artists compare these brushes to MAC's brush line. Some even prefer Sigma's over MAC's.

The brushes are SO high quality and so is the roll it came in. They are SOOO soft. The packaging was super cute and they came with brochures on how to use each brush and how to clean them too. Luckily, after watching me drool over these over the internet for about a week, my love bought them for me as a VERY early Valentines day present. There's 12 brushes total. 5 for the face, and 7 for the eyes for ONLY $99! With shipping and everything, we paid just $108. That's basically $9 a brush. Just 1 MAC brush is HALF that price. It's totally worth the investment. Every girl should get these!

And my mommy just informed me that she recently ordered a bunch more individual brushes from the Sigma website that were on my birthday wishlist so i'll post those up when I get them in the mail!

The 1st Blog

Hey guys!!

Okay so... tumblrs been making me kind of sad lately so i'm switching to BlogSpot. Kinda bummed because I have a lot of good things on that blog but tumblr (to me) is just too picture-ie now and being someone who loves to read and write I just miss reading peoples' blogs about what's going on in their lives. Although I DO go on tumblr sometimes to look for inspiration. But anyways, I really like the set up on BlogSpot better! (took me forever to learn how to use it though!!!!!) >:(

I feel really shy for doing this but whatever! This is gunna be a personal blog and a beauty blog also. Most of my girlfriends and acquaintances know (or eventually can see/tell) that for a while now i've been sort of makeup/beauty obsessed and i've been getting asked SOOOOOO MANY QUESTIONS LATELY (SERIOUSLY!!!!!) ABOUT; what I use, how much things are, where I got it, how to do things, if I can teach them, if I can do their makeup... blah, blah, blah, so even though I might get hated on for whatever reason i'm doing it for people like them and other girls who are makeup beginners, because at the day that's what I am too; a beginner :)

I am not doing this to be considered a "beauty-guru" or anything like that! I'm still far too stupid (lol). It's just mainly about my life and a little bit of beauty here and there. What products i'm obsessing over, what's working for me, what's not working, skin care I wanna share and YEAH! :) So hate on me or whatever but i'm happy because I know people who already appreciate my advice :) Okay, i'll stop talking now! I hope you guys enjoy this! =/
